Hot runner System - Hot Runner System is a channel system in which the plastic material in the distribution channels is kept in a flowing state throughout the injection molding process. The plastic material in the system is always kept in a flexible state in the manifold plate, and the hot nozzle is heated by resistance wires. Injection pressure pushes material through the hot manifold plate and nozzle to fill the mold cavity.
Advantages of Hot Runner compared to Cold runner:
Simplify mold structure
Eliminates heat loss caused by the cold channel system, allowing the plastic path to travel further into the mold cavity.
The flow of plastic into the mold cavity is precisely temperature controlled in a hot channel system.
Reduce pressure loss on the channel system, thereby reducing injection pressure, reducing press size, and increasing machine life.
Improve product quality.
Easy to automate.
Reduce molding cycles.
